Affiliate experts launch Turkish network adtriplex

Munich/Istanbul, August 2011 – German technology and Turkish roots combined offer the best conditions to build an affiliate network in Turkey. Equipped with these prerequisites and the prospect of a strong growth market, affiliate experts Cihangir Acilan (34) and Yücel Alagöz (29) founded the independent affiliate network adtriplex Ltd. Şti based in Istanbul, supported by cash rich investors. adtriplex’ technology was developed in-house in 2010 and underwent a year-long, thorough testing in Germany. For the launch in Turkey an adaptation in terms of language has been carried out. The Turkish affiliate network is initially launching with 50 million ad impressions per month. Concrete talks with further affiliates and advertising clients are already in progress. Of particular interest are German businesses that want to conquer the Turkish market with their products.

Business economist Acilan, who after filling positions at affilinet and Webgains went independent with emiyon, an agency for performance marketing, is in charge of marketing and publishing at adtriplex. Turkish-born computer scientist Alagöz oversees the account management and is responsible for business development. Prior to adtriplex he worked as an affiliate partner manager and project manager for dialogue marketing at arvato online services GmbH, the operator of the webmiles bonus program.

"We understand all aspects of the affiliate business and are familiar from our own experience with the needs of advertising clients, affiliates, agencies and network operators alike", says Cihangir Açılan.

The Turkish market has a lot of catch-up to do, Acilan states, since all prerequisites for affiliate marketing are in place: “E-Commerce is booming, 44 million Turks own a credit card and a functioning logistics structure exists as well.” Currently there are only two Turkish affiliate networks, both of which don’t use their own affiliate software. Furthermore, both Gelirortaklari as well as MaxGelir operate as part of an agency, which limits their ability to act freely in the market compared to adtriplex. “We don’t think like an agency, but rather act like a pure affiliate network”, explains Alagöz.

Current market statistics show that the internet in Turkey is developing into an important sales market. 35 million Turks are online. From 2009 to 2010 alone the trade volume in E-Commerce has grown from 5.1 to 7.6 billion Euros. A prognosis by ZenithOptimedia states that by 2012 as much as nine percent of advertising budget (about 243 million US-Dollars) will be spent on the internet. The market potential for the affiliate market is expected to be 24 million USD. This is further supported by the market entry of advertising network Zanox, which opened an office in Istanbul at the end of May.
